The Writing Program at Colorado College
Believing that students write more forcefully about subjects that interest them, the faculty has decided against requiring a conventional composition course. Instead, Colorado College offers a multilevel program designed to help students improve their writing. Faculty members from many fields offer Writing Intensive and Writing in a Discipline courses, grounding writing instruction in disciplinary practices.
Links below referring to the Writing Proficiency/Progress requirement apply to students who began coursework at CC in Spring 2017 and earlier (classes of 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020). For students entering in Fall 2017, please see the Writing Evaluations link.
