Humanities in Partnership Grants
NEH Professorship Humanities in Partnership Grants support a variety of faulty projects that engage Humanities
methodologies. Applicants do not need to be affiliated with Humanities departments, but applications must address
how their projects relate to modes of inquiry within the Humanities. Proposals will be reviewed once a Block.
Successful proposals will connect to NEH themes:
• Enriching Humanities programming on campus.
• Supporting and furthering the Humanities’ relationships with the FAC.
• Developing and showcasing Humanities partnerships across the college.
• Enhancing projects and activities that foster interdisciplinarity, stimulate creativity, and support inclusion.
Award Types:
HIP Teaching Project Grants provide up to $3,000 to support teaching-focused, student-oriented projects such as:
• Creating or revising an interdisciplinary course that engages the Humanities in innovative ways.
• Bringing visitors for class sessions, workshops, performances, or lectures
• Developing a performance with or for students
• Collaborating with other faculty or staff members on interdisciplinary projects or classes
HIP Sponsorships offer up to $3,000 to close the gap between existing funding and an event’s total expenses.
Sponsorships may support:
• Performances
• Lectures
• Exhibitions
• Round-table conversations that bring diverse constituents together
HIP Microgrants are $500 awards for smaller, short-term projects such as:
• Expenses related to exploratory activities (site visits, scouting trips to museums, outreach to potential collaborators, etc.)
• Research, planning, or experiments that may lead to larger projects
• Funds for a teaching activity that is not presently accessible by other means (museum entrance, field trip, etc.)
• Expenses related to trying a new pedagogy
Please note that the bullets are suggestions; we welcome creative ideas! If you have questions about the applicability of your project, please get in touch with Jessica Hunter or Rebecca Tucker.

• Please email your application to jhunter@coloradocollege.edu by 12 p.m. on the third Monday of each Block.
• Award notifications will be made by the end of the first week of the subsequent Block.
• Priority is given to projects that demonstrate collaboration between two or more on or off-campus entities.
• Applicants should demonstrate that they have explored other funding sources before applying.
• Funds may not be used to hire personnel or for course releases.
• Funds will be disbursed in a manner appropriate for the project, i.e., departmental journal entry, research account, or payroll addition.
• We prefer that awarded funds be requested and disbursed in the same academic year. Please get in touch with us if
you’d like to secure funding for a project in a subsequent fiscal year.
• We will grant extensions for delayed projects of up to a year on a case-by-case basis.
• Faculty may apply for grants for different phases of the same project.
