Elizabeth Macy is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where she teaches classes on the music of Southeast Asia, global pop, and African American musical heritage and directs Gamelan Banyu Wali. A graduate of Colorado College, she holds a MA in Ethnomusicology from UC Riverside and a PhD in Ethnomusicology from UCLA. Her research addresses the function of music tourism in post-disaster economies; in particular, it focuses on the function of music tourism in the recovery and rebuilding of post-Katrina New Orleans an

d in Bali after the 2002 and 2005 terrorist bombings. To date, her research has been presented at multiple conferences and invited lectures. She has previously taught courses at Colorado College, UCLA, Chapman University, and CalArts.
