Things to do:

Pikes Peak

America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak, is a 14,115ft mountain located just 12 miles west of Colorado Springs. In the winter, we recommend taking the Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the highest and longest cog railway in the world. This 3-hour round trip takes you to the mountain’s summit, offering spectacular views over the plains. In fact, “America the Beautiful” was written about the view from the peak, a testament to its awe. Tickets are available here.

Just 15 minutes from campus is Garden of the Gods. Voted “Most Beautiful Place in Colorado” by Colorado Travel + Leisure, this National Natural Landmark offers casual hikes (including a paved trail) surrounded by beautiful red sandstone rock formations. Admission is free and there are no reservations required.
