Records Retention Schedule

Colorado College is committed to the systematic, consistent, and comprehensive management, retention, and disposition of all records, regardless of medium or format, created and or maintained by employees of Colorado College. Effective records management is crucial to supporting efficient administrative processes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, safeguarding historical documents for posterity, and maintaining accountability and transparency. The online schedule is a dynamic source of information. It provides the appropriate amount of time to retain an original record, as well as how best to dispose of a record. Copies of an original record do not follow the schedule. They can be kept in a department as long as the department needs them for normal operations.
