Employee Compensation
CC makes significant investments in its employees through our compensation and benefits. On July 1, staff and faculty will receive updated compensation. The images on the left link to videos that provide an explanation of our approach to the topic, while the text on the right summarizes the changes for 2025-2026.
Overview of Colorado College's Compensation Philosophy |
Our compensation philosophy helped determine our compensation investments in 2025. We are making investments by:
Updated Compensation Structure |
We continue to maintain our new compensation structure (bands) that provide us more accuracy in our compensation matches. No employees will be below the minimum of their band. Staff who are over the top of their band will receive equivalent compensation to what they would have received as a raise, but in two payouts instead of an increase in their salary. Salary structure will be changed over time so that people over the top of the band will be brought back within the overall structure. |
2025 Annual Compensation Increase |
Most employees will receive a 2% "Across the Board" increase. Staff who are above their band maximum will receive 2% of their salary in two payouts instead of a base salary change. Staff below their midpoint will receive up to an additional 2% midpoint progression increase. Occasional staff will will receive a raise from $15.50 to $16 an hour. Note: To be eligible for these increases, an employee must have not had a role change since 4/1/2025. |
Internal Equity Changes |
All employees who have been in their role for more than 6 years and are not yet at the midpoint of their role have been brought to midpoint of their band. |
Maintaining a Living Wage |
The CC living wage was increased to $20.03 an hour, an increase of 15% since 2023. When you include benefits such as our 10% match for retirement and 80% coverage of health insurance, CC employees continue to be above the MIT Living Wage standard. |
