Lori Seager Named Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Lori Seager is the new vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Colorado College. Seager came to CC in 2019 and has served as associate vice president of finance for the college.

Seager, who has more than 20 years of experience in higher education financial management, is lauded by the search committee as a proven leader who has successfully led and collaborated across the college with faculty, staff, students, the board, college business partners, external auditors, and governmental agencies. She has shown her expertise in leadership through change, strategic investment management, institution-wide budget development and forecasting, financial planning and reporting, policy development, capital project planning, and team development.

“I have seen Lori work on important and contentious topics with grace and great judgment, educating all who were working with her,” says Search Chair and Vice President/Dean of the Faculty Emily Chan. “She is a consensus builder and problem solver who is committed to ADEI in her work. She helps stakeholders find meaningful and creative outcomes.”

Seager says she is grateful and eager to start her new role. “What a privilege to have the opportunity to continue my service to the college as its next chief financial officer,” she says. “I value the relationships I have formed here at Colorado College, and I look forward to continuing collaborations with students, faculty, trustees, and staff, especially those hardworking individuals in the Finance and Administration division. I look forward to partnering well with President Richardson and the leadership team, and I’m honored to be associated with CC.”

Prior to joining Colorado College, Lori was associate vice president for finance at University of Puget Sound; assistant vice president/controller and several other finance roles at New Mexico State University; and she worked in finance in health care as a CPA and an auditor. She earned her Bachelor of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University and CPA certification from the State of New Mexico.

Seager says she values professional development and has served as a volunteer for several years with professional associations supporting higher education finance and administration. Seager replaces outgoing Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer Robert G. Moore, who has retired from the college after 14 years.
