As an interdisciplinary scholar, Page Valentine Regan (they/he) leverages over fifteen years of experience facilitating, teaching, learning, and cultivating contexts for critical consciousness and youth socio-political development. Inspired by lineages of scholars, movement builders, and transcestors, they wonder what it means to continue to act, choose, dream, think and become otherwise? Especially from within the structures (such as schooling) painted with promises of justice and antiracism? They ask how do we, in the words of María Lugones, choose to “walk illegitimately within organizations devised purposefully to attain redress of injustices?” Their research weaves together trans of color criticism, Black feminist love politics and theories in the flesh in order to destabilize the ways in which identity politics have prevented healing, learning, and coalition-building. Page also teaches as a visiting assistant professor in the Education department and finds beauty in bugs and borderlands.
