Marie received her MFA degree from Yale University in 2003 in the areas of set and costume design. Marie's performance installation designs (original devised works: Loss of Habitat/Loss of Language, The Spirit of Caliban, Frozen Forms, and Requiem) were chosen for inclusion to the juried 2015 International Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space as well as the juried World Stage Design exhibition of 2014 in Cardiff, Wales. Her work was also chosen for digital publications for the World Stage Design 2017/Taiwan Biennial Exhibition, WSD 2009/South Korea, and USITT's 50th anniversary design exhibition in 2010. She has presented her designs during the International Prague Quadrennial 2011, Veletržní National Gallery, and at the National Taiwan University most recently in 2017.
Production credits include U.S. Premiere of Fighting Words recognized by the New York Times- Yale University, Walden Media- Los Angeles, Theatre Aspen, and recent academic designs; Circus Beckett, Yellow Face, Six Characters in Search of an Author, and Angels in America. Her individual design work and research focuses on dialogical and eco-conscious performance designs and the study of impermanence and spatial constraints.
Marie is currently working with environmental and design students on local community and environmental renovation projects in collaboration with local entrepreneurs, community and business partners.
