Tori Bush is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Colorado College for the 2023-2024 year. She specializes in postcolonial studies and environmental humanities and received her PhD from LSU. Utilizing the Gulf of Mexico as a site of investigation, one the broad questions her research seeks to address is how across multiple centuries, colonial and settler-colonial representations of the environment in cartography, visual art, and literature have led to our current state of environmental dispossession, degradation, and extraction. This year, she very much looks forward to working with CC students, and will teach courses on the Anthropocene, Intro to Lit Theory, Intro to Postcolonial Lit, Introduction to Lit with a focus on waterways, and advanced Postcolonial Ecologies.
