Subnational Climate Governance

Examines the role of subnational governments such as states, cities, and provinces in climate change politics, with a particular focus on the role of cities in mitigating and adapting to a changing climate. Investigates how local political actors ranging from business interests to social justice activists shape climate initiatives as well as the relationship between subnational climate policies and higher levels of government. (Not offered 2022-23).

Prerequisite: EV/PS 272 or consent of instructor.
