This course brings together students creating in sound and/or movement interested in diving into experimental collaborations across these mediums and disciplines. The course is organized around a series of engagements with different sites and spaces across Colorado. Each becomes a starting point for a site-responsive collaborative creation. Exploring the possibilities of how movement and sound can respond to each other, build together, and coalesce - in response to these sites - this class guides students into pushing the boundaries of what collaborative work can look, sound, and move like.
We will spend Week 2 at the Baca campus, engaging creatively with different environments there, and experience additional shorter field trips to other Colorado sites/locations along the block.
The course is geared towards students with some type of creative practice in sound or in movement, as well as an interest in cross-disciplinary experimentation and investigation. Prerequisite: having taken a 200-level course in either music or dance, or consent of instructors. 1 unit - Aharony, Sriram
