General Education at Colorado College
This page contains information about the general education program at Colorado College that was adopted by the faculty in May 2019. The requirements outlined on this page applied to incoming students as of Fall 2020. Here you will find information pertaining to the basic requirements of the program, learning outcomes associated with individual requirements, course proposal processes, and resources for faculty support. While the Curriculum Executive Committee was responsible for overseeing the development of the general education program, the General Education Assessment and Review (GEAR) Committee now reviews proposals for new general education designations for courses as well as assessing student work to determine whether students are meeting general education learning outcome expectations.
