
Gail Murphy-Geiss
Associate Professor
My Ph.D. is in Religion and Social Change, and I teach classes in gender, religion, family, law and research design. My dissertation was on family values, and more recent research has been on changing roles for clergy spouses, sexual harassment in the United Methodist Church, and domestic violence court procedures. I have also published on motherhood in Islam, the institutionalization of midwifery, and gender depictions in Sunday School materials. In addition, I am the Title IX Coordinator for the college.
