The Independent Community Partnership, an initiative of the Colorado Springs Independent newsweekly, named <strong>Ann Oatman-Gardner ’80</strong> as its 2005 Community Builder of the Year. This summer, Judy Berlfein, Sally Bishop, Lisa Johnson, and Judy Olshansky Margolis escaped to the Olympic Peninsula from their homes in San Diego, Denver, Chapel Hill, and Silverdale, Wash., respectively, for “five lovely days” to enjoy all the activities they loved at CC: hiking, walking, eating, and talking. • Janet Vacek Rose and her husband, Charles, have moved from Tulsa to Edmond, Okla. Chuck has taken a new position with Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City. • Susan Walker Smith Sahag is on the management team at Buttonwood Athletic Club in Stuart, Fla.

is executive vice president and chief financial officer of ProLogis, a leading global provider of distribution facilities and services. • Chris Muessel has been working in Vietnam since 2001 for the world’s largest law firm, Baker & McKenzie, advising clients on foreign investments. Before going to Vietnam, he worked a year in Tokyo on cross-border transactions, and the year before that for the World Bank in Cambodia and Mongolia advising clients on legal reforms. He and his wife, Johanna, have a 15-month-old daughter, Sophie. They would be delighted to host any and all CC alumni visiting Vietnam — “where, contrary to Hollywood’s never-ending flow of war movies, they absolutely love Americans (tourists and investors).”

Kimberly Morris has moved with her son, Kit, to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where she will renovate and build houses. • Gregg Martinez Shutiva is first lieutenant governor for the Pueblo of Acoma in New Mexico. Gregg’s experience includes a three-year term as chairman of the board for the Acoma Business Board and a one-year term as enterprise operations director for Acoma Business Enterprises.

Grace Bell lives in Lake Forest Park, Wash., with her husband, Tom, and her children, Benjamin and Maybelline. Grace is an end-of-life researcher at the University of Washington. • Ada Gee-deProsse was inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 9. • Robyn Goldman is director of finance and strategy for the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board.

Sue Boettger Martines received her J.D. in 1992 from the University of New Mexico’s School of Law and is now a national recruiter for Pre-paid Legal Services. She lives in Albany, Ore., with her husband, Joe, and her two daughters, 7-year-old Hope and 5-year-old Rose. • Jane McMinn Newberry serves on the board of trustees for the town of Green Mountain Falls, Colo. • Richard Pfeiffer is an assistant professor of adult orthopedics at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where he lives with his wife, Karyn Acre Pfeiffer ’86, and his two children, 13-year-old Tim and 11-year-old Jenni. • After having received her J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law and LL.M. in taxation from the Daniels College of Business in 2003, Suzanne McKinney-Swanstrom completed a short stint as a lawyer in the civil litigation field. She now hopes to work as a tax attorney or director of planned giving for a nonprofit organization, preferably in Colorado, where she lives with her son, Ian Crawford-McKinney (“class of 2014”), and her husband, C. Scott Swanstrom.

Bruce Allen is a financial analyst for the CBS affiliate in Denver and is president and financial advisor of Bruce G. Allen Investments. He also appears regularly on KOA 850 radio, has been quoted frequently in Bloomberg News reports, and has been a guest on Bloomberg’s New York radio program. • Bob Daly recently accepted a position with U.S. Bank in Minneapolis, where he is responsible for the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks Visa card portfolios. His children, 6-year-old Peter and 2-year-olds Grace and Charlotte, “have no clue what their dad’s new job entails, but are grateful that he is still a goofball.” • Caroline Dunn and Bill O’Brien were married March 12, 2004, in St. Paul, Minn. Alumni in attendance included Catharine Buchanan Reinitz ’86, Julie Dunn Campbell ’84, and Paula Hildebrand Gewarges. Caroline is a health behavior researcher at the Minnesota Department of Health. is a broker associate with Re/Max Properties in Colorado Springs. • Ginger Morgan is the new associate dean of students at CC. Ginger received her master’s in theological studies from Vanderbilt University and has completed coursework for her Ph.D. at the University of Denver’s Iliff School of Theology. She has served at CC as part-time associate chaplain and filled in for Chaplain Bruce Coriell during two sabbatical leaves.

Robert Bogue plays A.C. Mallet on the CBS soap opera, “The Guiding Light.” • Elizabeth Moodie McGuffee and family moved this spring to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Nine-year-old Massie, 7-year-old Anna, 3-year-old Jack, and parents enjoyed the summer in Boulder, Colo., before returning to the desert.

David Cunningham is the small and medium business marketing manager for Microsoft Learning. Before joining Microsoft five years ago as a partner marketing manager, David worked for more than three years at Intel as worldwide event marketing manager. David writes, “If I can be of help to any new Seattle graduates, I would be happy to try.” • Noel Lenski lives in Boulder, Colo., with his wife, Alison Orlebeke, and their children, 9-year-old Paul, 5-year-old Helen, and 2-year-old Chloe. He chairs the department of classics at the University of Colorado. • Heidi Schmidt is pursuing her master’s in botany at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
