Veteran real estate executive Ronald Stockdale joined Champion Development Group as vice president of acquisitions. • Debbie Patton Swanson is the development director at the Resource Exchange in Colorado Springs, the agency charged by the state of Colorado to coordinate services to people with developmental disabilities in El Paso, Teller, and Park counties.

Amy Brooks received “Best Actress” accolades at the fifth annual Peak Area Performances and Artists Awards (the PAPAAs) for her roles as Dr. Caius in “The Merry Wives of Windsor” and Charlotte Hay in “Moon Over Buffalo.” • Betsy Ring has been promoted to letters editor at the Portland Press Herald in Portland, Maine. She lives in Ogonquit with her children, 11-year-old Nina and 9-year-old Aidan. • As part of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service of Celebration, Thurman Walker, pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, addressed a congregation in CC’s Shove Chapel on Sunday, Jan. 15. The group had just completed a candlelight march from Acacia Park in downtown Colorado Springs to the CC campus.

In the past year, former CC psychology major David Crabtree was paroled from prison. “OK, so I wasn’t an inmate,” he explains. “I was working in a prison and now I’m working in a parole office. It sure feels like freedom. What an education I’ve gotten about human behavior and psychology! I now have a greater understanding of my own behavior — the successes and failures I’ve enjoyed along the way. And the philosopher in me finds satisfaction and frustration in exploring the many questions about freedom, ethics, and the meaning of life that continue to arise.”

Jennifer Mindel and Shane Greenwood were married Sept. 17 at Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe, Calif. The couple moved to Menlo Park, Calif., where both work for Apple Computer — Jennifer as an instructional designer and trainer, Shane as a copywriter. • Brian and Jennifer “Jay” Ferguson Wenzel and family have moved from Bartlesville, Okla., to Eagle River, Alaska, where Brian works for ConocoPhillips as the vice president of finance. Jay left graduate school and a position on the Bartlesville school board to move. Daughter Sami is 12 and in seventh grade. Son Zach is 8 and in second grade. “Alaska is gorgeous and will be quite an adventure,” Jay writes. “Nothing I had heard prepared me for the natural beauty that abounds up here.” The couple expects to remain in Alaska for two to five years. • Allison Voedisch and Kevin Sorg were married Sept. 3 in Baraboo, Wis.

Tammy Espinoza Greene is serving in the U.S. Army as a combat medic. • Craig Heacock is a psychiatrist at Mountain Crest Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo. • Andrew Masterman is president of Spartan Light Metal Products in St. Louis, Mo. • Sue Pitts McHugh is living in southern California and working at Caltech in the office of the vice president for business and finance. She and her husband, John, have two children, Sean and Sydney, “who keep us on our toes!” • Susie Garber Ponce has joined D.A. Davidson & Co. in Sheridan, Wyo., as a financial consultant. • Tim Wirth was selected as a Marshall Fellow in 2004. This award focuses on developing scholars who are knowledgeable about conservation and sustainability issues in south Florida and who are committed to addressing the area’s environmental concerns. Tim is currently the director of the Bay Area Trust for Public Land in northern California.
