Vision 2010

Early Results

By now, you should have received your copy of the college’s 2005 annual report. Among its highlights: the report on how strategies outlined in Vision 2010 are beginning to bear fruit in tangible ways around campus. The college has added five tenure-track faculty positions, and doubled monetary grants for student-faculty collaborative research. Dean Susan Ashley and the Faculty Executive Committee are raising expectations for faculty tenure and promotion, and providing a faculty perspective on issues that affect the college’s budget.

The most highly qualified, most ethnically diverse first-year class in three decades entered Colorado College last September. The college’s roots have provided both anchor and growth opportunities, as Packard Hall has been renovated and expanded. Groundbreaking for the Cornerstone Arts Center will occur in late spring. The college’s Web site and information infrastructure have branched out further than ever, and CC’s visibility among the nation’s best colleges improves steadily.

Yet Vision 2010 remains a seedling; these first fruits are merely the harbingers of a bumper crop expected in the remaining four years.
