Michele Feingold reports that she "fled teaching middle school Spanish" and is back where she belongs, working in a university depression treatment and research program in Pittsburgh, Pa. • Jim Root, wife Darlene, and kids, Kate and John, have relocated to Brea, Calif., where James is assigned to the special crimes unit of the California attorney general's office. • Gregory Shinn MAT has published his second article in Quality Progress Magazine, a global publication of the American Society for Quality. The article entitled "15 Waste Scenarios" is featured in the December 2002 issue. Gregory is the business excellence manager for U.S. Roads, L.L.C., and an adjunct professor at Regis University and the University of Phoenix in Colorado Springs. • Dirk Tyler formed M2P Capital, L.L.C., a private equity firm, in Denver. Fellow alumnus Bob Manning '69 is also a founding partner.

Bruce and Susan Baker '80 Baird will return in July after seven months in Gisborne, New Zealand, where Bruce was doing a working sabbatical. With their triplets and a friend, they traveled the South Island before settling in Gisborne. Bruce worked at Gisborne Hospital in anesthesia while the family adjusted to beach life. • Jay Cornils MAT published two novels in 2002, "The Cross of Lorraine," and "A Litany of Angels," both published by 1stbooks.com.

John Catto and Allen Hill's '85 documentary film "Jump" took top prize at the Austrian Film Festival in September. The film has won numerous awards in the U.S., Canada, and Europe since its premiere at the 2001 Aspen (Colo.) Filmfest. • Marine Corps reserve gunnery sergeant Warren Coughlin spent six months in Kosovo while assigned to the 4th civil affairs group detachment, based in Washington, D.C. • Jim Finkel and his wife Karen live in London, U.K., with their children, Madeline and Lydia.

Dana Shields Hubbell reported in with a "small-world" CC story: She started a children's literature class at Stanford University and the teacher was Caroline Davis Goodwin '86. They proudly performed two C's with their arms (a la hockey game antics) for the class of 22 students. • Anthony Tansimore lives in Oakland, Calif., where he works for the San Francisco Foundation. He also lived in Los Angeles for many years and says that he loves northern California as much as southern California. "This gets me into many debates with natives of both regions."

William Holland is loving life in Carmel, Calif., where he is a "toxic mold guru." • Curt Smith received the 2002 Colorado Enterprising Teacher of the Year Award from the Colorado Council on Economic Education. Curt teaches at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs, and recently returned from a work/study trip to St. Petersburg, Russia, sponsored by the National Council on Economic Education in Washington, D.C.

Camille Bzdek and Jim Schwerin were married September 2002 at their home in Colorado Springs. • Scott Eaton, his wife Pam, and their children, Sawyer, Holden, and Connor, are relocating to the New York City area this summer after over six years of living abroad. • Michele Whitehouse Folk lives in Lake Forest, Calif., with her husband Dan and their son, Riley. Michele is a project director and national offices director in the right-of-way land acquisition industry. • Joe Henning and Howard Lehman '78 bumped into each other at a Fulbright orientation in Tokyo in October 2002. Joe is teaching history at Tohoku University in Sendai and Howard is teaching political science at Kyushu University in Fukuoka.

Beth Hubbard is married and living in Denver, where she is a senior project analyst for Qwest. • Jon Khoury is president and C.E.O. of Groove Events, an entertainment and music company specializing in private parties. Jon lives in Croton, N.Y., with his wife Karen and their children Daniel, Andrew, and Daisy. • Carolyn McKinney is director of product operations for Patagonia in Ventura, Calif. Carolyn and her husband David Ebers have two children, Emma Rose and Lucy. • Kate Fuller Niles was awarded a Colorado Council on the Arts Individual Fellowship for 2003. She received the award in the creative non-fiction category for a memoir piece entitled, "The Return of Birds." Kate has published numerous poems, essays, and short stories on the national level, and currently teaches in the writing program at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo.

Kip Freytag and her husband, Frieder Schurr, live in Cameron Park, Calif. They are planning to take a six-month trip around the U.S. by camper and bike, and then travel to Australia to take in the sights for another six months. • Lauren Gipe and William Taylor were married Nov. 9 in San Diego, Calif. Alumni in attendance were Annabeth Headrick, Ross Kauffman, and Edie Dulacki '86. Lauren is an executive assistant with Metallic Power, Inc., in Carlsbad, Calif. • Benjamin Lammons is a deputy district attorney in Fort Collins, Colo. • Kristin Schliep Welch is a stay-at-home mom to children, Alyson and Eric, in Rochester, Minn.

Eric Brown de Colstoun lives in Laurel, Md., with his wife Cristel and sons, Thomas and Lucas. Eric is a senior research scientist at N.A.S.A., where he studies global vegetation patterns from satellite data. • Lucy Congdon and Charlie Hanson were married April 27, 2002, in Port Townsend, Wash. • Dave Cortez is the owner of Inform Mortgage in Colorado Springs. • Michelle Langston Curry is a physician with Lakelands Emergency Physicians in Greenwood, S.C., where she lives with her husband Greg and their daughter, Grace. • Mary Penuela is semi-retired from her paid career and is enjoying the joys of first-time parenthood to daughter, Sarah, who is two. She lives in Gallup, N.M., and would love to hear from friends.

Darcy Purinton lives in Hartford, Conn., where she and her husband Martin Estey head the English department at the Watkinson School. They are hoping to move to England on a Fulbright teaching exchange. • Andrew and Stephanie Holmes '87 Stephens live in the Washington, D.C. metro area with their sons, Nick and Ben. Andrew is a video and live television producer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Stephanie is a regulatory analyst for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Stephanie completed the 2002 Marine Corps Marathon and Andrew continues to hone his fly-fishing skills.

Wendy Blethen and Bill Helgeson were married March 22 in Minneapolis, Minn. • Tiffany Luedke-Murray Churilla lives in Oak Park, Ill., with her husband Michael and their son, Aidan. Tiffany is vice president of Menttium Corporation, and works primarily in Chicago and New York. • Juli Gammon and Ted Wong were married April 13, 2002, in San Francisco. Alumni in attendance were Kelly Atkinson, Ann Deines Honious, Melinda Rees, and Jayni Philipp Reinhard. • Peter Loach is country director in El Salvador and Nicaragua for CHF International, a non-profit working in low-income communities. He lives in Miami, Fla., with his wife Teresa and their children, Alexandra and Sophia. • Amy Moore and Mark Hopkins were married Nov. 25, 2000, in Estes Park, Colo. Alumni in attendance were Katherine Moore '79, Wade Moore '80, John Moore '81, Jessie Brown, Ana Pazirandeh Kemp, Dorothy Pacheco Nichols, and SoYong Park. • Michael Weisselberg is purchasing manager with Wyssmont Company, Inc., in Fort Lee, N.J.

Katy Anderson is a family physician at Denver Health Medical Center at the Park Hill Clinic. • Matt Case is a child and family therapist in Mebane, N.C., where he lives with his wife Suzanne and their children, Nathan and Henry. • Doug Haller is a curriculum developer and teacher on special assignment at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. When he is not traveling to climb or ski, he lives in Boulder. • Scott Holstein and his wife Kim live in Wilmette, Ill., where they own Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels. They were featured on the QVC channel in December. • An observant alumnus spotted a recipe in Sunset magazine that had been submitted by Kristen Dillon Lummis. "Split Pea Dal with Mango" was in the January 2003 issue. • Paul Markovich was promoted to senior vice president of the California Public Employees Retirement System for Blue Shield of California. • Rink Murray lives in Durham, N.C., with his wife Kristi. He recently attended the Robert Earl Keen show, in which alumnus Rich Brotherton '81 is the lead guitarist.

Lisa Betty and Jack Cline were married Nov. 23 in Boston, Mass. Alumna Amy Mullen Luster was in attendance. • Matt Karzen is an assistant district attorney for the Western Judicial Circuit in Athens, Ga., where he lives with his wife Pam and their son, Sam. • Maralee McVean and John O'Kelly were married Aug. 2, 2002, in Seattle, Wash. Alumni in attendance were Dale Askey, Kathy Benavides, Troy Benavidez, Nick Bischoff, Jim Snell, and Bill Porter '90. • Anna Shortt and Alex Thomas were married Aug. 2, 2002. They live in San Jose, Calif., where Anna is an English teacher and soccer coach at Santa Teresa High School. • Elizabeth Stroh and Michael Daven were married Nov. 10 in Kauai, Hawaii. They shared the news with Mike Steinzig '87, Michael Reilly '88, Corrie Ball Kalivoda, Nicole Haasbeek Messner, Haeley Paul Mowery, and Paul Noad '90. Elizabeth and Michael live in Lake St. Louis, Mo., where Elizabeth is owner and C.E.O. of Environ Resource Services, L.L.C. • Jameel Webb-Davis is a financial analyst with New England Financial in Boston, where she lives with her husband Mike.
