Jim Bloom is the vice president of strategy for F.E.I. Women’s Health in Manhattan Beach, Calif. • Michael DeBacker was named supervisory ecologist/regional coordinator of the National Park Service Biological Inventory and Monitoring Program. He lives in Springfield, Mo., with his wife, Kara Wallar DeBacker, and their son Adam. • Justin Eisenberg is the officer-in-charge of the Rampart Gang Impact Team for the Los Angeles Police Department. • Kevin Niswender lives in Brentwood, Tenn., with his wife, Colleen, and their children Aidan and Molly.

Alumni in attendance were Meg Stiff Spodick and Rebecca Felts ’94. • Heidi Gimbel Duston is a senior attorney practicing labor/employment law at Agilent Technologies in Loveland, Colo. • Sarah Sellergren works in primary care psychology/preventive medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. • Matt Steward is a partner in the law firm of Clyde Snow Sessions & Swenson in Salt Lake City. • In April, Daron Yates became an associate in the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Julie Barnes and David DiFranco were married on April 28 on the Big Island of Hawaii. • Heather Newman Bergeson and her husband, Todd, now live in Nederland, Colo., where Heather homeschools their three children. • Bridget Jeffery and Paul Fearing were married June 26 at Gold Lake near their home in Nederland, Colo. • Baylor Ledbetter-Stovall lives in Memphis, Tenn., with her husband, Howard, and their children Quint and Carter. She has recently expanded her stationery store, The Papel Collection, to a few other cities, which involves a lot of travel, “but it’s a fun business.” • Rick O’Donnell was appointed executive director of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education by Governor Bill Owens. • U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige named Susan Patrick to director of the office of educational technology in the office of the secretary. Susan is responsible for coordinating programs and policies on technology to further the mission of the department and the No Child Left Behind Act. • Lael Rogan is a GIS analyst with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. • Keri Rusthoi lives in Steamboat Springs, Colo., where she is founder and general director of the nonprofit Emerald City Opera. • Cassandra Wilson and Laura Wolf were married March 2 in Portland, Ore. They live in Tillamook, Ore, where Cassandra is a clinical social worker in private practice.

Alumni in attendance were Phil Secrist ’61, Asheton Carter, Scott Partee, Elliott Perkins, Valerie Karasz ’94, and Kasandra Griffin ’95. • Maria Moore lives in La Paz, Bolivia, where she works as a sales analyst for Microsoft and Nuevatel. She welcomes visitors. • Michael Sandler spent the summer on a 4,800-mile solo cycling trip across the country to raise awareness for people who suffer from attention deficit disorder. • Maggie Fuller Simpson received a contract to sing with the San Diego Opera for the coming year. • Melissa Tatsch and Thomas Patno were married May 27 on Kauai, Hawaii. • Erika Williams and Scott Craig ’95 live in Overland Park, Kan., with their two daughters. Scott works in software development and Erika writes fiction. Some of Erika’s work was featured in the summer issue of The Massachusetts Review.

The Denver Post’s theater critic, John Moore, had this to say: “Phillips has the childish perspective of Charles Schultz, the talent of Fred Astaire, and the twisted imagination of Tim Burton. I can’t wait to see what he’ll come up with next.”

Megan Day has joined CC as the community relations manager in the external relations office. • Sean and Whitney Swanger Kennedy live in Denver. Sean owns his own Internet commerce business and Whitney is a family physician, following her June graduation from her residency with Rose Family Medicine. • Yuri Kostick lives in Vail, Colo., with his wife, Sacha, and their three sons: Alexander and twins Bode and Alden. • Jill Pederson received a Fulbright fellowship to complete her doctoral dissertation research. She is a Ph.D. candidate in the history of art at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and will spend a year in Milan, Italy, researching late-15th-century Italian Renaissance art. • Anne Powell works at Bishop-Brogden Associates, a water engineering firm in Denver — one of five alumni who work for the company. • Todd Walker is a senior producer at R/GA, an interactive marketing agency in New York City.

Sloan School of Management’s annual awards event in May, <strong>Todd Schwartz ’94</strong> and <strong>Caroline Seaman ’97 </strong>were both awarded merit scholarships for their community contributions, leadership, and academic achievements. In June, each received an M.B.A. at the commencement exercises.

Doug Casson is a visiting assistant professor of political science at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. • Jessica Knight and her husband Ray Brooks, who is in the Marine Corps, have relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii. Jessica is a program analyst with Educational Services. • Stacey Sowards accepted a faculty tenure-track position in the department of communication at the University of Texas-El Paso.

Alison Bechtel and Stuart Wexler were married July 3 in Fort Worth, Texas. • Ben Bursell began a three-year residency in emergency medicine at the Hartford Hospital with the University of Connecticut. • Nathan English and Christa Placzek ’97 live in Tucson, Ariz., with their son Alden. Nathan is nearing completion of a Ph.D. in paleoclimate and geochemistry and is working toward another Ph.D. in geosciences. • Daniel Fellman and Melissa Ellstein were married June 20 in Southfield, Mich. • Erin Guinee is a production coordinator with Sterling Rice Group in Boulder, Colo. She plays a lot of golf and enjoys riding motorcycles in the mountains. • Josh Horton is pursuing his Ph.D. in political science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. • Chaim Lodish teaches mathematics at Burlington High School in Burlington, Vt. • Thomas Mershon lives in Prague, Czech Republic, with his wife, Veronika, and their 2-year-old daughter Tereza-Marie. Barry Balof is an assistant professor of mathematics at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. • Sueanna Conklin and David Johnson were married June 12 in Boulder, Colo. They live in Denver, where Sueanna is a law clerk to Judge John Coughlin of the Denver District Court. • Matt Diebel is a graduate student studying hydrology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. • Gregory Hewett is teaching for a third year at The American School in Bangkok, Thailand. Recent travels have included New Delhi, Punjab, Agra, Dharmasala, and a kayaking trip in the Himalayan Pradesh region. • Eric Rud is stepping into the assistant hockey coach position at CC for a one-year appointment to replace Norm Bazin, as Norm continues his recovery from an auto accident last November. • Caroline Seaman lives in Northampton, Mass., where she is a leadership development candidate with United Technologies. • Molly Stewart is back in New York City, where she is in an off-off-Broadway production of Hamlet. • Anne Williams lives in Cambridge, Mass., where she is pursuing a master’s degree in international affairs at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. • Jonathan (MAT) and Beth Hulac Wolfer live in Denver with their sons Ryan and Joshua. Carrie Bowman was promoted to a full-time position as an athletic trainer in the CC athletic department. • Todd Landin started medical school in August at the University of Colorado-Boulder, after six years as a Boulder firefighter. • Ari Long and Brooke Dunitz-Johnson ’99 were married July 18 in Portland, Ore. Alumni in attendance were Geoff Eakin, Jett Nilprabhassorn, Luke Pierpont, Rusty Slaughter, and Aubrey Schroeder ’99. • Amber McIntosh lives in Socorro, N.M., and works as the editorial assistant to the editor of the Geological Society of America Bulletin at the University of New Mexico. • Ken and Liz Smith Rubin live in Chicago, where Ken is an education manager for Le Cordon Bleu Schools and Liz is a graphic artist for Edge magazine. • During his May graduation from medical school, Peter Shepard received the Herbert S. Steuhr Memorial Award, recognizing excellent work in anatomy. He also received the Outstanding Graduating Medical Student Award from the medical student government body. Peter attended Case Western Reserve University-Cleveland.

Pamela Butler is an associate with the law firm of McGuire Woods in Richmond, Va., where she lives with her husband, Rob Sellers. • Adam Hector is assistant manager for NYK Logistics in Denver. • Stacy Johnson is the assistant producer of Spoleto Festival U.S.A. in Charleston, S.C. • Neelima Joshi lives in Chicago, Ill., where she is pursuing her M.B.A. at the University of Chicago. • Chanda Klco is a development officer for the University of Montana’s School of Business Administration-Missoula. She also teaches yoga, and recently completed her second 500-hour teacher training. • Chris and Vanessa Tomasello Magyar ’98 live in Brisbane, Australia, where Chris is pursuing a master’s degree in writing, editing, and publishing at the University of Queensland, and Vanessa is a film producer. Their production company, Dry Eye Pictures, just released its first short film, “Make a Killing.” Numerous CC talents starred in the movie, including Erik Edborg ’97, Greg Webster ’97, Hannah Duggan ’98, Brian Colonna ’00, Ben Harvey ’00, and Evan Weissman ’01. • Meghan McKeever is doing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in Rochester, N.Y. • Adam Rehmer lives in St. Louis, where he is vice president of annuity sales for Missouri and Iowa at InSource. • Sarah Richey is a resident physician in psychiatry at Duke University-Durham. • Katherine Roussos has spent three years in the south of France, where she is working on a doctorate exploring magical realism in French women’s writings. She is also a guide for Artemis Hiking Voyages. • Katherine Wilson is the program manager for the Community Cycling Center in Portland, Ore.
