The Adventure Continues!

Colorado College continues to build upon the tradition of its founders 131 years ago — and its Block Plan innovators 35 years ago!

You recently received “A Report on The Colorado College – February 2005,” which describes CC’s strategic action agenda for Vision 2010. In this annual report, read more about the intellectual adventure taking place on and off campus through the college’s signature programs, efforts to create a next-generation campus, and diversely talented student body. For more information, see www.ColoradoCollege.edu/2005report.

Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Block Plan

Enthusiasm for the Colorado College Plan, today known as the Block Plan, has remained steady since the faculty voted on it 35 years ago. In 2005-06, CC invites you to share in re-igniting the excitement of this landmark anniversary during Homecoming festivities by attending a special reunion for its founders and first students, enjoying a talent show featuring groups that thrived on it, and engaging with students, faculty, and staff at a “Homecoming Block Party.”

And what’s an anniversary without cake? Share some with fellow alumni at the Saturday picnic.

We will devote much of the summer Bulletin to capturing the origins of the Block Plan and its benefits to teaching and learning over the past three-plus decades, and we hope you’ll participate (how-to, below). We’ll also cover a major campus event: a symposium exploring the many intersections of religion and public life that will convene scholars and leading public figures in 2006.

There’s much more! To keep up with 35th anniversary activities, check in regularly at www.ColoradoCollege.edu/35.
