Quattro Mani, the piano duo featuring CC music department lecturer and artist in residence Susan Grace, right, and Alice Rybak, performed for the third year in a row at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City in December. Each performance has been better than the one before, Grace said. “The first time I was very nervous about playing in New York, and the third time I felt quite comfortable,” she said. “There’s always a sense of excitement about playing in New York.” The duo performed pieces by George Crumb, Poul Ruders, and George Perle. About 50 alumni, CC President Richard F. Celeste, and his wife Jacqueline Lundquist attended the event and a reception afterward.

Acclaimed vocal soloist Ida Rae Cahana, clarinetist David Krakauer, and a 32-member combined chorus, conducted by Neil Levin, perform Colorado College music Professor Ofer Ben-Amots’ composition, “Mizmor: Seven Degrees of Praise,” at Lincoln Center in New York City in November. The composition was commissioned by the Milken Archive of American Jewish Music and was performed at the archive’s international conference and festival, “Only in America: Jewish Music in a Land of Freedom,” a celebration of the 350th anniversary of American Jewry.
