Changemaker Workshop Series
The Changemaker Workshop Series is a fast-paced, action-oriented series that prepares students to create impact through entrepreneurship. The series is designed to teach students how to put their ideas into action by learning the tools and practicing the skills that are needed to develop both successful non-profit and for-profit business ventures. While the series is designed to serve as support for The Big Idea pitch competition, held annually in Block 5, any interested students are encouraged to take the workshops, regardless of their intention to participate in The Big Idea.
Spring 2019 Changemaker Workshops
Block 6: Idea to Business: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 3:30-5:30pm in Innovation space, 232 E Cache La Poudre St.
This workshop is designed to teach students how to validate their concept and take steps to develop their ideas into a business. We will cover: problem/solution fit; design sprints and prototyping; creating an organizational identity; and the Business Model Canvas (BMC). At the workshop’s conclusion, students will be able to write a BMC and to talk about how their core values (the "why" of their idea) translate into actions.
Block 7: Build a Pitch: Tuesday April 2, 3:30-5:30pm in Innovation space, 232 E Cache La Poudre St.
We will cover the essential elements of a pitch, go over the necessary design elements needed to create compelling visuals, and discuss how to create audience-specific content. Students will leave with a 10-second pitch and the tools to develop their own pitch decks.
