Competitions

The Colorado College Figure Skating Team competes in the U.S. Figure Skating intercollegiate series. The team is a member of the Pacific Coast section and often hosts one competition each academic year. Tiger Challenge usually takes place during the fall, and Colorado College hosts more than 100 skaters from 11 teams across the region including schools in Arizona, California, and Utah. All active CC team members are eligible to participate in the competitions.
Tiger Challenge is a two-day competition where skaters compete in freeskate events, ice dance events, and team maneuvers to earn points for their team. Skaters compete at all levels from beginner to senior. The team with the highest point total at the end of the competition is the winner. There are three sectional competitions each season, and the CC team has traveled to California and other schools in Colorado to attend the competitions. At the conclusion of the three competitions, the four teams with the highest season point totals in the Pacific Coast advance to the national competition.
