Cost of Attendance and Financial Assistance
While tuition makes up the lion's share of the cost of higher education, books, room & board, and transportation costs also factor in. For information on costs associated with attendance for the current year see the following links.
Our Net Price Calculator is also available to give students an early estimate of the types of financial aid for which they may qualify and estimates the net price for a full-time, first-year student attending Colorado College during the upcoming academic year. Bear in mind that this calculator does not represent final determination or actual awards. As these estimates may change, they are not binding on the institution or any other entity granting aid. Students must still complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid in order to be eligible for and receive an actual financial aid award that includes Federal Grant, loan, or work-study assistance under Title IV.
Click here for trends on, average cost of attendance for first-time, full-time undergraduates (including change in average tuition and fees, net price calculation for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates who were awarded aid, financial assistance by type with total and average amount awarded, and other information about grant aid received by students under Title IV-

Education Tax Credits
There are tax benefits available for higher education. The American Opportunity Credit, the Lifetime Learning Credit are available for educational expenses paid by the parent for their student and are a direct credit towards tax liability. See our Financial Aid Policies Handbook. We urge families to consult with their tax advisers for specific information. The IRS Web site at http://www.irs.gov and IRS Publication 970 provide more information on the tax laws affecting the financing of higher education.
