Re-Opening FAQs

What are the hours of operation?

Monday - Friday (6:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 6:45 p.m) / Saturday - Sunday (1 p.m. - 3:45 p.m).

How many patrons are allowed in the fitness center at the same time?

A limited number of patrons will be allowed in the fitness center at one time in accordance with state and local guidelines. The best way to get a workout in at your favorite time is to go to the fitness center homepage to book an hour or 75-minutes of workout time during an available time slot.

Do I have to make a reservation?

Yes. In order to maintain appropriate social distancing within the facility, you are required to make a reservation.

How do I cancel my reservation?

What services are not available yet?

We are opening up the services and operations in phases. During this first phase, the following areas will be closed: rec gym, multipurpose room, gaming area, lounge, squash and racquetball courts, and locker rooms. No equipment will be checked out.

Are the locker available for use?

The locker rooms are closed until further notice so please come dressed to work out and please limit the amount of personal items brought into the facility.

Do I need to wear a face mask while working out?

Yes. You are required to wear a face mask upon entering and exiting and while moving about the fitness center and while you are actively working out. See Colorado's Guidance on Mask-Wearing, per Executive Order D 2020 138. All fitness center staff are wearing masks at all times.

What are the social distancing guidelines while in the fitness center?

All patrons must maintain a six-foot distance between themselves and others while in the fitness center. Procedures are in place to help ensure these distancing guideline are respected: visual reminders, area closures, location of machines to open areas, tagging out machines, and asking staff to monitor and enforce these rules.

What else is the fitness center staff doing to keep it safe and clean?

All patrons must disinfect equipment before and after use and we have provided additional disinfection stations throughout the facility. High touch points are disinfected before, during, and after the facility opens and closes and throughout our open hours, monitors are cleaning all of the equipment.

Who has access to the fitness center?

Beginning Aug. 10, all active CC employees and students who are approved to be on campus have access to the fitness center. Furloughed employees do not have access.

Can I bring a guest into the fitness center?

No. The campus is closed to visitors, including family members, retirees, alumni, and job candidates. This policy will likely be enforced throughout the entire pandemic.

When will the Schlessman Natatorium open up again?

The pool will re-open to CC community members on Tuesday, August 31.

When will the Ritt Kellogg Climbing Gym open up again?

The climbing gym is preparing to re-open during the second week of Block 2.
