Support for Scholarly & Creative Work
Crown Manuscript Workshops
The Manuscript Workshops are part of the Crown Faculty Center’s initiatives to support and promote productive scholarship at CC. The Manuscript Workshops bring together a CC faculty member and up to three experts in their field for an intensive two-day seminar discussing and revising the faculty member’s manuscript. Over the past seven years, the Manuscript Seminars have supported faculty in producing excellent publications in a number of fields. Application form can be found here.

Scholarly Writing and Research Groups (SWARGS)
A SWARG is a group of faculty members focused on mutual support for creative work, research, and writing. Each semester there are approximately 40 CC faculty members participating in accountability and/or writing exchange groups on campus. This kind of interaction has been shown to be highly effective at increasing individuals’ productivity, as well as their overall satisfaction as teacher/scholars. Often groups form themselves from mutual interests, career stages, or departments, but an individual may apply and ask to be assigned to a group as well. Once accepted, each group may receive reimbursement for expenses up to $300 (per group) per year to cover lunches or meeting refreshments, copying papers, etc. To apply, please fill out this form and send to email@example.com.
