Housing:

Dates --To create maximum flexibility for faculty to pick a suitable start date for summer research, students can start their scholarship funded housing any time after commencement.

Students will be charged a daily rate, beginning May 20, and can move-in/check-out on any day of the week after 10 a.m. The periods between the end of Block 8 and May 20 - Extended Stay for graduates and Gap Housing for summer session enrolled, research students, and work study students - is at no cost for students resided on campus Spring Semester and who have been approved to stay on campus by a Residential Life Coordinator. RLCs extend approvals on a case-by-case basis, dependent on why a student is requesting to stay. Students should work directly with Student Housing to make arrangements.

Summer housing dates are from May 20- August 2, 2021. Due to COVID, research students who previously lived on campus will continue to stay in their existing housing during the summer. Students do not have to stay for all 10 weeks but can request specific dates. Housing will arrange assignments for students who did not reside on campus during the Spring. The scholarship is awarded based on the cost of a double occupancy room (if students are required to live in a single they will be charged at the double rate). If a student requests a single room and the college allows students to have double rooms, the student is responsible for the additional cost.

If the 10 weeks of research extends into August, for students living off campus in the Fall, the last day to move out of campus housing will be August 3, 2021. This moving date will be non- negotiable. If a student did not live on campus during Spring 2021, they will not be able to move in until May 24, 2021.
