SW 259: Ritual and Medicine of the Southwest

Course Description: This course introduces students to the medicinal-ritual practices of indigenous communities in the US Southwest and Mexico. Through an integration of the anthropology of drugs, the anthropology of religion, ethnobotany, and medical anthropology, students will interrogate the interconnectedness of science, medicine, and expressive culture in the Southwest context.
