The Student Life Office

Questions about life circumstances and the impact on your academics? Curious about transitioning into our local community? Considering taking a leave of absence? There are times during our scholastic journey where we must resolve issues outside of the classroom or make some tough decisions.

"At first I was scared of asking for help, but help is all around me on this campus."

- Xong Chang '18

Our residential and co-curricular programming reinforces and supports student learning by linking students’ residential and academic classroom experiences. We help students develop and utilize life skills such as critical thinking and thoughtful decision making that reinforces the conversations taking place in their classrooms. Students can come to our office to seek support in times of crisis or distress, to obtain a leave of absence or withdrawal, during conduct proceedings or for any support related to the student experience

Dynamic Half Block

The Dynamic Half Block is another way the Student Life Division is supporting the strategic plan. Dynamic Half Block provides opportunities for students to grow as professionals and continue to develop their skill sets. Over 180 students returned from Winter Break to attend five- to nine-day workshops such as Foundations in Leadership, the Modern World of Work, The Writing Life, Talk:ology, Musician's Boot Camp and The Vocab.
