All students are required to have health insurance while attending Colorado College and to provide annual proof of coverage.
We are pleased to announce that we have changed our Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) insurance carrier and claims administrator for the 2018-2019 academic year. The new vendors are as follows:
- Insurance Carrier: Anthem (Denver, Colorado)
- Claims Administrator: AmeriBen (Boise, Idaho)
- Waiver/Eligibility Administrator remains the same: Specialty Insurance Solutions, Inc. (Lenexa, Kansas)
We are excited about this change as the rate has been lowered and Anthem maintains the most extensive PPO network in Colorado (and nationwide). Also, AmeriBen is a specialty SHIP claims administrator with an excellent reputation for working closely with students. The 2018-2019 SHIP Brochure has more information about the coverage provided in the plan.
Your student account will be billed the cost of the SHIP at the beginning of each mandatory coverage period. The next mandatory coverage period is the 2018-2019 academic year: $2,695 (billed in August).
