Greek Life Pillars of Success

All fraternal organizations at Colorado College are based on specific ideals and beliefs that are significant to the organization and help set each organization apart from one another. At the same time there are four areas or "pillars" of Greek life that are universally embraced by all fraternal organizations.

Our Pillars of Success are:

Academic

A fraternity or sorority offer an academic support system. All chapters have grade point average minimums required for membership and to remain active. Inter/national organizations, chapters and councils provide academic assistance such as providing monitored study hours and peer tutoring and incentives such as scholarships and awards for high academic success or for academic improvement. In addition, participating in the Greek community offers students opportunities to interact with faculty and administrators and network through educational programs.

Leadership

Greek members gain valuable hands on leadership opportunities within the Greek community, providing opportunities to skills such as learn how to manage a budget, run effective meetings, speak in public and motivate others coordinated by the Greek Councils and through the Elevate Leadership Series. In addition, Greek members are actively involved in campus organizations, such as Student Government Association, Intramural Sports, varsity sports, honor societies, the band and other student organizations, resident assistants, and student staff in departments and offices across campus.

Service

The Greek community at Colorado College is committed to participating in community service and philanthropic efforts. Chapters strive each semester to give their time and support to many different organizations in Colorado Springs and beyond.

Brotherhood/Sisterhood

Joining a fraternity or sorority is about making lifelong relationships that carry-on beyond the boundaries of ordinary friendships. Bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood are created within an organization and provide CC Greeks with a home away from home, guidance, career networking, and a sense of community on campus. Greek members enjoy lifelong bonds and connections with friends that can provide support in life’s momentous occasions and celebration in life’s accomplishments.
