Annual Events & Festivals

It's awesome to be a student at Colorado College! 

One of the greatest aspects of the college experience is being a part of a great college tradition - a highly anticipated event that provides a sense of belonging, pride, school spirit and overall a sense of community.  Below are a few annual events and festivals that are highly anticipated. Halloween Video Dance Party (VPD)

Where laser lights, fog and large screen music videos meet live DJ -  Colorado College annual Halloween VDP provides a fun and safe place for celebrating Halloween festivities. Complimentary refreshments and double midnight breakfast provided at Rastall's in the Worner Center. Sponsored by Residential Life & Campus Activities. Coordinated by Activities Event Committee. 

Date: Halloween Night

Time: 9p.m. - 12 a.m.

Halloween VDP is part of a larger halloweek effort with an array of events coordinated by campus partners and student organizations. Follow us on facebook for more information and announcements! 


Winter Ball

Colorado College’s annual Winter Ball is a formal themed dance that takes place during 5th block at the Antler’s Hilton Hotel.This event is free and open to all CC students. Student safety is a top priority. Shuttles to/from campus to hotel will be provided and students are required to take the shuttle to the venue. Board the shuttles in front of the Worner Center. Refreshments and appetizers are provided in dance hall space number 2. This event is sponsored by Residential life & Campus Activities. The Central Programming Committee plans and designs Winter Ball.

Date: Friday, January 27, 2017 

Time: 8p.m. - 1 a.m.

Entry requires CC ID Card. Non-CC students must be accompanied with a student, otherwise no access will be granted.


Llamapalooza

CC’s Llamapalooza is the annual music festival that takes place every 8th block on the Worner Quad. This event is free and open to all Colorado College constituents. This is a glorious time to roll out blankets and relax on the lawn  and enjoy an array of music bands.  Refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by CC SGA. Residential Life & Campus Activities along with the Llamapalooza committee coordinates the music festival. 

To apply to be selected as a member of the Llamapalooza Student Planning Committee, click here and complete the online form in its entirety. The deadline to apply for the Llamapalooza Committee is Sunday, September 16th at 9pm.

Blues & Shoes

The annual Blues & Shoes festival is Colorado College's springtime bluegrass festival. Get ready to dance on the lawn, play games, and enjoy an array of blue grass music bands.  This event is open to Colorado College constituents. Vendors and complimentary refreshments will be provided.

Homecoming

Each year hundreds of alumni and friends gather at the college for Homecoming. Join us for Homecoming traditions such as Freedom and Authority, Homecoming Convocation, and the all-campus picnic under the tent. We’ll also celebrate annual traditions including our fireworks celebration and a homecoming kick-off party with faculty.

Family & Friends Weekend

With a wide variety of academic, artistic, athletic, cultural, and social opportunities available on our beautiful campus and in the surrounding community, there will be many ways for families and students "to CC" together!
