Post Election Opportunities for Engagement

Dear Campus Community,

It has been a long election season filled with a multitude of emotions and responses. We all recognize both the challenge and exhilaration of being in a community with diverse views, standpoints, and visions for our nation. So the college is providing many opportunities today and in the coming weeks for us to turn toward one another for critical dialogue, and for self- and community-care. Some of these opportunities are highlighted below.

Professor Roberts is an expert on party effectiveness in the U.S. Congress. (Cossitt Faculty Lounge, Cossitt Hall) Seating is limited; please RSVP to jessica.pauls@coloradocollege.edu

Noon-1 p.m. Chaplain’s Office Invitation to be in Community (Sacred Grounds, Shove Chapel)

12:15-1:30 p.m. “Music at Midday” (Packard Hall)

3-4 p.m. Chaplain’s Office Invitation to be in Community (Shove Memorial Chapel)

7 p.m. Lecture: “The Day After: Civic Responsibility and Social Justice Beyond the Ballot” with Rosa Clemente (Celeste Theatre)

There are also opportunities for conversation and support from the chaplain and the Butler Center and additional counseling hours are being provided. Please call the Counseling Center at (719) 389-6093 to schedule an appointment.

TOMORROW Thursday, Nov. 10

Each of you is a valued member of our community. As a college, understanding different views, and finding ways to support one another is part of our core mission. We encourage you to continue to engage.
