Matt Cooney

GIS Technical Director

Matt Cooney's role as GIS Technical Director at Colorado College enables him to assist students, faculty and staff with GIS projects. His ability to provide direction, solve spatial problems, ask the right questions, listen, and apply critical thinking and analysis help him provide insight into GIS projects and problems. His accomplishments include the development of models that help reduce application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides on corn and soybean fields. In addition, Matt was involved in the initial use of GIS and Remote Sensing techniques to study of the world's largest herd of wild caribou migratory patterns. As the geospatial field is changing every day, Matt Cooney is growing and helping all of us explore new avenues in spatial analysis and GIS at Colorado College.
