Students Who Plan to Study Abroad

If you are planning to study abroad in the fall, you still need to complete the online housing agreement in preparation for your return to campus housing in the spring. If you are planning to study abroad in the spring, you still need to complete the online housing agreement for the Fall semester. It is also important that you complete the online room preference information. You will take part in the housing selection process, you will simply login to StarRez and select the semester that you will be back on campus for.

If you will be a 2nd, 3rd or 4th-year student by the start of the 2023 spring semester, you can apply to live off campus. You must submit an off campus application that can be found on the main Housing page.

Students who are taking classes away from campus that are less than a semester in length:

If you are studying away from campus for two or fewer blocks in the upcoming academic year, you may participate in housing selection and retain your assignment all year. However, students planning to study away on a two-block program in Blocks 7 and 8, or in Block 8 only, must completely vacate their housing assignment before departing to their study away destination.

Students who are studying abroad fall semester of their Senior year:

If you are studying away from campus for the fall semester of your senior year, please be aware that housing is not guaranteed upon your return to campus for your final spring semester. On-campus housing is prioritized for students who are required to live on campus (in their first three years), and we anticipate that these students will mostly fill on-campus housing options to capacity.

Please contact the Office of Global Education and Field Study for more questions about study abroad!
