Bemis Hall
Built in 1908, Bemis is a historic building that houses 76 upper-class men and women. Most of the rooms in Bemis are singles, which makes it attractive for students who want more privacy in their living environment. The large common room on the main floor, with its fireplace and comfortable atmosphere, is used frequently for meetings and programs of all types. The main floor of Bemis is also home to the Residential Life and Housing office.
The Bemis Great Hall is available for events such as lectures, readings, small shows, catered meals, formal dances, and summer conferences. Capacity is 170 for dining and 299 standing room, and it may be reserved by members of the college community through the Worner Center desk (x6608). Priority is given to programs with an academic connection. Events which might be disruptive to Bemis residents (e.g., which occur later than 10PM) require prior approval of the Residential Life Coordinator.
