Academic Year 2021-2022 Blocks Away
COVID-19 & CC Blocks Away
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all 2020-2021 Academic Year Faculty-led Blocks off-campus have been canceled.
Please see the most recent video update on "Returning to Study Abroad in 2021" on our COVID-19 Updates page, posted September 7, 2020.
We continue to regularly monitor and communicate with each of our partner programs and CC faculty on the plans to offer and support 2021 study abroad program options, in conjunction with U.S. State Department and CDC travel restrictions and guidance.
2021-2022 Academic Year (AY) Blocks Away
Below are the courses that CC professors are teaching off-campus during the 2021-2022 academic year. This list may be updated if additional courses are added or if courses are rescheduled.
PROGRAM FEE: There is no additional tuition charge for blocks during the academic year but there is an additional program fee that varies by class and location. The program fee covers travel costs such as lodging, excursions, entry tickets, etc.. Program fees do not include airfare or other transportation to/from program destination unless indicated. Some programs include a meal stipend and/or group meals, however this is not universal. Students with a CC Meal Plan will receive a refund for a portion of their meal plan prior to departure, which can be used to cover any meals not included in the program fee. It is each student's responsibility to understand exactly what is included in the program fee and what is not - see information below, and check with the faculty leader for the program if you have questions on specific details.
APPLICATION: The application window for all 2021-2022 Academic Year Blocks Away is between February 9 and March 12. All students who apply during this window will be considered for an aid award (See Billing & Finances page for details). A second application window for Block 7 and Block 8 programs will also be available in the Fall of 2021. Applications must be completed on Summit. Once accepted into the program, students will receive an email with instructions for forms and waivers to complete. Upon submission of these forms to Summit a second email will provide the Consent of Instructor (COI) Code needed to register for the course on Banner.
The list of upcoming Block Away courses will be updated throughout January and February, 2020, prior to the progam application deadline of March 12. You will also be able to obtain further information on the Virtual Block Away Fair website, which will go live on February 9.
