Tracy Santa received BA and MA degrees from San Francisco State in English/creative writing, an EdM from Harvard, and a PhD in composition/rhetoric from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has directed writing centers at Loyola University ( New Orleans), the United States Air Force Academy, and the American University in Bulgaria, taught college composition since 1989, and written for the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Reader, and Salon.com. His historical reading of error in composition, Dead Letters, was published by Hampton Press in 2007. He also serves as the CC Writing Program Director, assists individual faculty in development of writing curriculum and pedagogy, and consults with students across the curriculum.
