BreakOut is a Colorado College student organization that plans and leads service-based field trips that provide the opportunity for students to engage with and learn from communities beyond the campus. Student leaders plan and facilitate trips to local organizations in Colorado Springs every Saturday, weeks one through three of the block, through Saturday Trips. These Saturday Trips provide an opportunity for students to engage in direct service opportunities with a variety of partners in the Colorado Springs community. Students also plan and lead trips in consultation with CCE staff every Block Break. These Block Break Trips are often regional trips to sites in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, and are offered to provide students with the opportunity to engage in service and learn about an issue.  These overnight trips usually between 3 and 4 days, and include often include camping.  BreakOut leaders also work with CCE Staff to plan and implement an Alternative Spring Break Trip (ASB) each March. Students in recent years have traveled on ASB to New Orleans and Utah to work on issues related to animal wellness and land conservation.
