To register:

  1. Go to: www.citiprogram.org
  2. Click on "Register" under "Create an account"
  3. Enter "Colorado College" under "Select Your Organization Affiliation"
  4. Complete the registration process, including setting up a username and password. (We recommend that you use your CC email address in this process, otherwise we may cancel the account believing you are a non-CC student.)
  5. Choose the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Basic course

It is anticipated that the basic course, which consists of between 9 and 11 required modules, will take approximately 10 hours to complete. There is also a range of possible elective modules.

Students are encouraged to take and complete their CITI training prior to their mentored research experience.

Students do not have to finish the course in one sitting. In fact, the program recommends that students spend about an hour and half at a time on the course.

Students who have completed RCR Basic training must take the RCR "Refresher" course after three years.

Why do it?

Formal ethics training for success as a current and future researcher

Foundation in code of conduct principles for continued academic and career growth

Familiarity with RCR content and principles-expected by many post-CC environments

Completion Certificate for resume and application materials-active for 3 years
