Engineering & Mathematics

Engineering is a branch of science and technology that deals with the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of engines, machines, and structures.

Engineering and Mathematics are great starting places for those who are interested in solving tough real-world problems through hardware, software, or science. Those who follow this community often seek multidisciplinary teams to research, design, test, evaluate, improve efficiency, or modify products and procedures. Commonly, members of this community are:

  • intellectually curious
  • detail-oriented
  • data-driven
  • interested in working in hands-on environments

People in this community can work in any type of organization, including:

  • start-ups
  • large multinational corporations
  • various aspects of the government
  • research laboratories

There are multiple paths from CC to an engineering career, including:
  • Our 3-2 Program or 4-2 Program
  • Graduate school in engineering (usually you will major in the affiliated science)
  • Employment in engineering directly from CC (usually you will major in the affiliated science) CC graduates have followed all of these paths into successful careers. Please visit our CANVAS site and talk to Stephanie DiCenzo
