Annual Awards Banquet

Every year, members of the Colorado College community come together to celebrate The Butler Center Annual Awards Banquet. This much-anticipated event includes recognizing the service and achievements of several members of the Colorado College community through awards named after key figures in the college’s history. This past year, The Butler Center Annual Awards Banquet took place at The Antlers Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs on May 7, 2017.

The Butler Center and Heads of State Awards for Diversity & Inclusion (2017)

  • The winner of the 2017 Taizo Nakashima Emerging Leader Award for a first year or transfer student was presented to: Judy Fisher
  • The winner of the 2017 Taizo Nakashima Emerging Leader Award for a second year or transfer student was presented to: Breanna Elyse Conwell
  • The winner of the Charles Jackson Outstanding Student Leader award, recognizing a Senior Student was presented to: Njeri Summey
  • The winner of the Theodor Roosevelt Collins Outstanding Faculty award was presented to: Dr. Felicia Chaves
  • The winner of the Theodor Roosevelt Collins Outstanding Staff Award was presented to: Ryan Hammes
  • The winner of the Ginger Morgan Legacy Award for Feminist and/or LGBTQIA+ Initiatives was presented to: Eboni Statham
  • The winner of the Rochelle T. Mason Award for an Outstanding Event Contributing to the Empowerment of Communities of Color was presented to: Dr. Dwanna Robertson for the “Laura Padilla Colloquium Keynote address with Bunky & Walter Echo-Hawk”
