Annual Awards Banquet

Every year, members of the Colorado College community come together to celebrate The Butler Center Annual Awards Banquet. This much-anticipated event includes recognizing the service and achievements of several members of the Colorado College community through awards named after key figures in the college’s history. This past year, The Butler Center Annual Awards Banquet took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Southern Colorado Springs on Sat. April 27, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. 

The Butler Center and Heads of State Awards for Diversity & Inclusion (2019)

  • The winner of the Taizo Nakashima Emerging Leader Award for a first year or transfer student was presented to: Nicollete Gordillo La-Riviere 
  • The winner of the Taizo Nakashima Emerging Leader Award for a second year or transfer student was presented to: Cameron Mongoven
  • The winner of the Outstanding Student Organization Award in Recognition of Contributions to the Development of Inter-cultural Understanding was presented to: MOSAIC
  • The winner of the Ginger Morgan Legacy Award for Feminist and/or LGBTQIA+ Initiatives was presented to: Nepantla Publication
  • The winner of the Theodore Roosevelt Collins Outstanding Staff Award was presented to: JoAnn Jacoby
  • The winner of the Theodore Roosevelt Collins Outstanding Faculty Award was presented to: Dr. Marion Hourdequin
  • The winner of the Rochelle T. Dickey-Mason Award for an Outstanding Event Contributing to the Empowerment of Communities of Color was presented to: SOMOS
