Zunneh-bah Martin '19, one of the original White House Native Youth Ambassadors, celebrated Generation Indigenous (GEN-I) at the White House Native Youth Gathering in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, July 9.

Zunneh-bah, from Tohatchi, New Mexico, is the daughter of Sunshine Sonlatsa Jim-Martin '94 and one of seven We-R Native Youth Ambassadors attending the event. Also at the White House Native Youth Gathering was Jared King '01.

Speaking from Capitol Hill, Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye said, "The Navajo Nation supports our Native youth in advancing their education. Our youth are the future leaders of Indian Country and we applaud their leadership in their communities."

Zunneh-bah, who will begin her studies at Colorado College next month, said she wants to serve as a role model for other Native youth attending the White House event.
