Volleyball, Both Soccer Teams Nail NCAA Bids

Colorado College Athletics scored a "hat trick" on Monday as both of its soccer teams earned at-large bids and will join the three-time SCAC champion volleyball squad in the NCAA playoffs later this week.

It's the first time in more than two decades - since 1990 - that all three programs have accomplished the feat in the same year.

While the CC spikers head to Thousand Oaks, Calif., to meet the University of Puget Sound in first-round action of the Division III West Regional on Friday, men's soccer will travel east to Babson Park, Mass., to take on Babson College in the opening round of regional play. It'll be the program's 19th trip to NCAAs but first since 2004.

Women's soccer, meanwhile, returns to nationals for the first time since 2006 when the Division I Tigers battle the University of Denver in a rematch of their season opener on Saturday at DU's CIBER Field. Time of the match has yet to be announced. CC beat the Pioneers, 1 -0, in Colorado Cup competition on Aug. 17.
