The Life of the Mind at CC

Colorado College hosts two major lectures on Sept. 12, both of which are free and open to the public.

"The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict," is the kick-off lecture for CC's State of the Rockies Project's monthly speakers series. Author Jonathan Waterman and photographer Peter McBride will highlight some of the issues surrounding the Colorado River Basin and present a collection of photos from their book. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the Richard F. Celeste Theatre in the Cornerstone Arts Center, 825 N. Cascade Ave.

The second event is a lecture by Roger Myerson, the 2007 Nobel Laureate in Economics, who was awarded the prize for his contributions to mechanism design theory. Myerson, the Glen A. Lloyd Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago, will discuss "A Perspective on Keynes and How to Understand Financial Crises" at 7:30 p.m. in the Gates Common Room, located on the third floor of Palmer Hall, 1025 N. Cascade Ave. (east of Tutt Library).
