Services to be Held for Colorado College Professor Emeritus Robert McJimsey

Bob McJimsey, professor emeritus of history, died Sept. 3 in Colorado Springs. A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 610 N. Tejon St. McJimsey, whose fields of specialization were British history and early modern Europe, joined Colorado College's history department in 1968. He was a Fulbright Scholar in 1963-64, conducting research in England. McJimsey earned a B.A. from Grinnell College in 1958, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1961, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Marianna, former director of International Studies at Colorado College, and three children, Elizabeth Souder, George McJimsey, and Katharine McJimsey '97. Memorial contributions may be made to Colorado College for the Robert D. McJimsey Memorial Fund for student scholarships.
