Reception for contemporary figurative painter Laura Ross-Paul, whose work is on exhibit at Coburn Gallery through Oct. 5. She'll present a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m. Her exhibit The Allusive Self presents paintings from Ross-Paul’s recent body of work, simply titled "Naked," developed in response to the artist’s recent treatment for cancer. Exhibit runs through Oct. 5. Coburn Gallery is open 12:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays starting Aug. 25. Part of Second Skin: Performing Identities, a series of exhibitions, performances and events that examines the construction of personal and social identities.
