Professor Neena Grover Honored by ASBMB

Colorado College Professor of Biochemistry Neena Grover has received a special letter of commendation from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). The letter recognizes Grover for her service as an ASBMB Student Chapter advisor and a mentor for biochemistry and molecular biology majors at CC.

"Dr. Grover's support of the Colorado College chapter has allowed students to actively engage in science outreach and research," says the letter of commendation. "In addition to providing mentorship on campus, Dr. Grover's continued participation in the Student Chapters program allows her students to attend regional and national conferences, present research in our annual undergraduate poster competition, and access support for research and outreach initiatives."

"I'm delighted that Neena is receiving national recognition from ASBMB for her involvement in undergraduate mentoring at CC. The multiple opportunities that she has provided to our students have greatly enhanced their undergraduate studies," said Margaret Daugherty, chair of Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Grover, who started teaching at CC in 1999, earned a master's degree in biophysical chemistry at the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in bioinorganic/biochemistry at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
