Feminist & Gender Studies is proud to announce that Maya Patel (Comparative Literature major and Feminist & Gender Studies minor '18) earned an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) position with the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program (JET) Program!

The JET Program is an exchange program managed by the government of Japan that sends participants throughout the country to work in schools, with boards of education, and in government offices. As an ALT, Maya will act as a cultural ambassador of the United States and work along side her Japanese counterparts to teach English to children of various ages.
