Matt Fechter ’13 Earns All-America Recognition

Matt Fechter '13 cemented his place among the greats of Colorado College men's soccer as well as the best players in the nation when he was named a second-team All-American by D3soccer.com.

"Matt deserves all the accolades he has received," said Horst Richardson, who recently completed his 47th season as head coach of the Tigers.

It's no surprise that, following his dominating performance during the 2012 season, Fechter was listed among the top five forwards by the national website that specializes in the coverage of Division III soccer.

The senior forward tied for third nationally with 15 assists, finished ninth with 47 points and was tied for 21st with 16 goals. All three totals were career highs.

Fechter's averages were just as impressive. He tied for second at .68 assists, was 13th at 2.14 points and tied for 38th at .73 goals per game. Statistics, however, were only part of the story.
